Milling is a cutting process performed by end mills which look a little like drill bits but can cut laterally (sideways). Here's a good introductory read about these bits: Makezine - "The Skinny on End Mills".
DAI Makerspace has a Stepcraft CNC mill (not fully set up yet) and a manual milling table for loads of different materials as well as a handheld router for woodworking.
You might also be interested in the drill press, cordless drill or Dremel for drilling jobs.
"Milling" can also refer to sawing timber into boards (as in "sawmill"), but we do not know of any shared equipment for that kind of milling yet.
