Made in the USA This completely handsewn knapsack meets the specifications for many historic sites working toward progressive Revolutionary War militia impressions but was used by many early war. It is copied from the original Capt. David Uhl pack who was in the Dutchess County Militia in New York in 1776. This pack is made from heavy linen & sewn with 35/2 unbleached linen thread, 18″ (45 cm.) wide by 19″ (48 cm.) tall with 2 straps made of the same linen as the pack with a cross strap to adjust on the chest. To close the pack are 3 plain metal buttons as the buttons on the original pack weren’t original. You may find variations in the construction of this pack since the original isn’t symmetrical & is pieced. Great thanks is given to Henry Cooke who generously shared his notes from his handling & careful measuring of the original pack.
